This sculpture is a collaborative piece made by 7 sculptors: Elizabeth Allison, John Balsamo, Allston Chapman, Akihiro Ito, Selva Senjines, Matte White and Noa Shay as part of 'M2M - Model to Monument' program of creating Art for Public Spaces. Installation was completed in June 2011 and will be in place through mid-2012.

M2M, the
Model to Monument Program: Creating Art for Public Spaces is a five year partnership between the Art Students League of New York and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, under the mentorship of Master Sculptor Greg Wyatt. Sculptures by seven artists are installed along the Hudson River from 61st Street to 69th Street until May 2012.

Media coverage of the first year of M2M reached 5 million readers and viewers, from coverage in all five major New York City newspapers and television outlets FOX, CBS, NBC and NY1.

“The New Age”
 responds to this historic riverfront setting. “It reflects my feelings about the transformation of New York City, from an industrial city to a sleek and modern metropolis. “The New Age” is my interpretation of the people who reside in a city of once run down waterfronts, but is now a made-over modern landscape with open space, parkland and recreational facilities."
